How the f**K does a bird sleep?

Do they curl up or more flamingo style. maybe they like a good travelodge

Now, one thing I love about my commute is the fun that can happen on the way home. Each time, it’s completely up to anything for me to have a good time. And if I'm not having a fun time and painting the streets with curries, takeaways or a creamy Pasta dish. I'll fix that with a question. something so simple but yet so difficult to answer without any case studies. In this instance, I had thousands of case studies, though I didn’t have a steady focus on said animal. At this stage in the evening, I was somewhat off my fucking face on cider. So my ability to comprehend a majestic, beautiful animal like a pigeon was hindered but the fact that my eyes don’t see well when drunk.

Not saying that’s a bad thing, as sight is one of many senses. I could hear quite well into my headphones, blaring out Mr Brightside, following defining gravity. I probably couldn’t use any other senses to work my way home. Possibly could smell the tube station, but I definitely wouldn't taste any part of London's roads or platforms. My tongue would die instantly. I learnt that describing colour to someone who hasn’t seen that colour is very difficult. But nothing states in the rules of that question that you can’t describe how that colour feels. how it tastes. It would be very hard to describe grass or the colour beige.

Back to this challenge, this question,

How do birds sleep?

I see them all around, being a complete nuisance, getting in the way, and being scared you might accidentally step on one. Though if you have the intent to kick one, you will always miss. That’s a question for another time. As soon as my brain put those words in that order, I was baffled. What a question for me to find the answer. I spent the rest of that evening thinking about it, which took my mind off the fact that my headphones died as soon as I sat down on the train. I cried. But this bird conundrum was clouding my brain. The answer was at the end of my beak. or wing. I was feeling flustered. Maybe this answer had already taken flight, and I was too scared to jump from the nest into the free fall of ideas, ambitions and stupidity.

So I slapped myself in the face, and told myself to focus, I wasn’t going through a mental breakdown, frankly, the opposite. I had found my purpose for the journey.

Do they curl up into a ball

My first theory, I thought they must be like mammals. By the way, I have no scientific knowledge, so some facts my be incorrect, but some might be more fun than the actual fact. A dog, for instance, circles its bed before curling up into a flat ball. Maybe in terms of veg, A tomato you would find in a burger. Or for the sweet tooth. A cinipoman swirl with fewer swirls and more dog. Or like a beaver after a long day’s work building dams. I’m guessing they sort of starfish in the water and end up like a travel pillow. But I'm hoping you get the idea. If not, I'll supply graphical examples to refer to. However, a bird can’t do this, as in my mind, they don’t have enough bones or limbs to curl at all. They remind me of a elderly gentleman dancing. Enough to somewhat feel the rhythm but not too extended to pop out a hip or two. Birds probably could breakdance. So that theory is a no-go, based on the portions of a bird.

My second theory was maybe a flamingo style. I don’t know if they do sleep standing up, but that would make sense. But then you look at the thickness of a pigeon’s leg, and it makes me think. As I know, I can’t stand up on a bus for long periods of time without passing out. let alone fall asleep,p stood up. The breeze would knock me over. So how on earth could a pigeon make that work? That idea was a no-go.

So my last theory was maybe they do what sharks do, and sleep mid-flight. The white noise would definitely knock you out. It would be great for migration as you set autopilot in your mind and then just snooze. Although the theory that a Bird has Autopilot, i don’t think is possible or is possibly too advanced? Doesnt fill me with hope.

I have been thinking of the answer to this extremely difficult question, but I still have no answer. It doesn’t matter how long I stare at a pigeon; it would not sleep even when I asked. It didn’t know how important this study was.
