I know this is a place where we can rant about commuting, but I fear what I might say next might change your views on commuting for the rest of the day. Let tomorrow be shit like always, but today be different. Yes, the train is shit, the tube is shit, the bus is shit, and so you try walking and what is that, you guessed it, SHIT.
So imagine how much of an inconvenience swimming to work would be, if you had no choice in the matter. As soon as you leave your home it’s just a lazy river mixed with rapids at Centre Parcs. Imagine if that’s how we got to work. Just getting soaked down the road. You don’t even need to move, there will be enough salt in there to float, however you will arrive to work drenched.
It wouldn’t be everyone, just you. You get to work soaked every day, your bag filled with water, your stiff sandwiches now filled with water. Your laptop is broken. Every day you have to get a new laptop. I hear you asking, well why not just get a raft or waterproof bag. We get one, in this scenario you will always end up soaked and wet.
Surely that’s worse than every other commute.
